Western Biomass Power Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of ROR Power, is developing a series of wood-fired waste-to-energy plants utilizing beetle damaged trees, logging and mill wastes and decadent forest residuals to generate bioenergy.
The company is pursuing two biomass initiatives: the 60 MW Tsilhqot’in Biomass Power Project, to be located 75 kilometres west of Williams Lake in Hanceville, BC and the 34 MW Suskwa Biomass Power Project, to be located near New Hazleton, BC in the northwest corner of the province.
In addition to expanding and diversifying ROR Power’s project portfolio, these biomass initiatives demonstrate the company’s growth capabilities via acquisition and integration.
BC Hydro has defined a two-phase application process for its Bioenergy Call for Power. Western Biomass Power Corp. intends to submit both proposals to Phase II in accordance with BC Hydro’s requirements.
