Our Projects
ROR Power is focused on developing two forms of energy generation.
Low-impact hydroelectric (known as
run-of-river) facilities harness the
power of gravity and mountain streams to create electricity, while
biomass generates power by consuming beetle-damaged and dead trees,
forestry waste and sawmill residue. Both forms of power generation are
considered to be
"green” -
sustainable and
respectful of the
environment when appropriately constructed and managed. The company
currently operates a fully functioning run-of-river power facility that
was commissioned in 2005, under a 20-year contract with BC Hydro. ROR
Power is currently participating in BC Hydro's Request For Proposals
for both run-of-river and biomass projects.
