Northwest Cascade Power Ltd. (NWCP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Run of River Power Inc., has made an Application pursuant to The Provincial Park Boundary Adjustment Policy, Process and Guidelines (2004) to the Ministry of Environment, for consideration of a legislative amendment to the boundaries of Pinecone Burke Provincial Park.

The Application is to allow for a 4.6 km transmission line corridor crossing through Pinecone Burke Provincial Park. This would entail 22 wooden-pole structures within a corridor up to 46 metres wide through a remote mountain pass in the park.  The proposed transmission line corridor would require that the boundaries of Pinecone Burke Provincial Park be amended by an Act of Legislature.
